The term is little used in EN. / Harrod-neutral (rate of technical progress) / Hartmetallindustrie = powder metallurgy / harki (plural harkis) = 250 000 or so Algerians who fought with the French in the 8-year Algerian war of independence. Largely abandoned to their fate in 1962. Not mentioned in Evian peace agreement, only 250-300 000 rescued and brought to France. About 100 000 killed by fellow-Algerians in savage reprisals, viewed as traitors. Put in transit camps in France, some still there. Kept apart from French populace, schools, shops etc. all inside the camps. Only in past few years (1990 -) have they begun to be integrated, camps closed; source: The Times
